Blogging,
Me,
Work
That’s right, my first post here is a total lie. I did not, “created this site as a place to collect ideas and information about the web, social media, design, technology, food, and other fun stuff“. I don’t even like to write that much, unless of course it’s in 140 characters or less. So why did I start this blog? I started this blog to play around with setting up custom WordPress sites and learn how to use the application. My hope was to take on some new clients who wanted a business or personal blog, set up the blog & teach them how to use it. My main client, that I’ve worked for over 10 years, had less & less work for me so I needed to find something else to do.
In February of 2009 my husband started working full time with EquestrianLife.com. Later that spring they brought me in as the Creative Director. It has been a great job and really fun. What we are working on now is a full site redesign and rebuild. A lot of new features will be adding during the coming year, plus we will continue our live event broadcasts along with some other exciting things.

Preview of the new site design. Sorry, this is all I can show right now!
So, I’m pretty busy these days and don’t have much time or motivation to keep up with this blog. I’m not saying I won’t post here every once in a while, but probably not too often.

Home & Garden,
Me
It’s been a while since I last posted. Moving 3 times in 6 months & having a new job can do that…
Anyways, our house in NH sold. It wasn’t even on the market 2 weeks! Yes, we got nickled & dimed and over all lost money, but not having to pay a mortgage on an empty house for the next couple years is worth it.
Unfortunately the buyer did not want the box of midget porn, but she did want our kayaks and brand new Temperpedic bed… SIGH…
Well, it’s over with now & we moved once again, from a temporary apartment in San Mateo, to a rental house in the San Carlos hills. We have an awesome view of San Mateo to San Jose, too. We’re still not completely settled in yet, plus there’s problems with the house like the lights, a nightly intruder I named “Ratty”, and getting Comcast to come out to our house for more than 5 minutes at a time and actually connect us to the internet, but over all we are happy here and hoping not to move ever again. Well, at least for a couple years…

Home & Garden,
Me
Last February my husband & I threw a few things in a Uhaul & moved to California. We were in a hurry and left a disaster at our house in New Hampshire. A couple weeks ago I flew back to clean up the mess and put our house up for sale.
I gave away some furniture, hauled a ton of stuff to the dump, and packed up the rest. I labeled all the boxes and stacked them in the closets so the house is not too cluttered for potential buyers.
Just in case some of these potential buyers get a bit nosy and start looking at the stuff in my closets, I left this box on top…

Design,
Music
A while back I was browsing the internet and came across this - the steps for creating a random band album.
The rules are:
- The first random Wikipedia article you get is the band name - Wikipedia.org
- On the random quotation site, the last 4 or 5 words in the last quote on the page is the album name - Quotationspage.com
- The 3rd photo on Flickr’s interesting photos page will be the album cover - Flickr.com
- Put it all together in PhotoShop and voilà!
Here’s what I got:

Pretty crazy! If this was a real band, they would probably go on my play list with Cheb Mami and the Slumdog Millionaire sound track.
That was fun, so I did it 2 more times. Keep in mind I did not cheat, I used exactly the random names & photos according to the rules.
Here are the others:

Want to try this your self, but don’t want to deal with PhotoShop? Of course, someone has automated this process. Just go here.**
**Note - when I posted this, this site was down. I have gone to it several times before so I imagine it will be back up soon.
