Random Album Covers

Monday, March 23rd, 2009

A while back I was browsing the internet and came across this - the steps for creating a random band album.

The rules are:

  1. The first random Wikipedia article you get is the band name - Wikipedia.org
  2. On the random quotation site, the last 4 or 5 words in the last quote on the page is the album name - Quotationspage.com
  3. The 3rd photo on Flickr’s interesting photos page will be the album cover - Flickr.com
  4. Put it all together in PhotoShop and voilà!

    Here’s what I got:

Pretty crazy! If this was a real band, they would probably go on my play list with Cheb Mami and the Slumdog Millionaire sound track.

That was fun, so I did it 2 more times. Keep in mind I did not cheat, I used exactly the random names & photos according to the rules.

    Here are the others:

Want to try this your self, but don’t want to deal with PhotoShop? Of course, someone has automated this process. Just go here.**

**Note - when I posted this, this site was down. I have gone to it several times before so I imagine it will be back up soon.

    Testing Stuff

Howard, my husband, has been working on a site, equestrianlife.com, for a client for about a year now. He just built a new video feature with an embed function for the site. (He’s a good coder & does fancy stuff like that all the time.) I’m helping him test that feature here.

To quote Howard, “Please feel free to enjoy the “Jockey-ish Goodness” of the following video, courtesy of my spiffy Flash Video Player and equestrianlife.com!”
